  1. Ann,

Hello, my name is Robert and I am the publisher for Running Hoosier Magazine Indiana’s ONLY (will be) running magazine. I say will be because we will be in print in September.

I am writing to as of you would consider contributing to our magazine. At this time we are not able to pay our contributors, heck any one at this point. Being a startup our advertising is set at just cost to get printed.

We will publish bimonthly with our first being September/October. We are currently looking at 5000-10000 per issue. We are getting quotes as we speak.

We will initially have some mailed subscriptions, but the majority will be a controlled drop.

I like what I have read here on your site and know that the runners in Indiana would as well.

Feel free to email me or call at 574-876-8612.

I look forward to speaking with you.

    Hi Ann,

My name is Jonathan and I work for Trumpet, a branding agency representing a unique fitness apparel brand called thriv. I liked your work on Ann’s Running Commentary and thought you’d be interested in trying out thriv. I’d like to send you a free thriv workout shirt, and invite you to be a part of thriv 1st –our network of people who are both passionate about fitness and in touch with the world around them.

Your interest in running and your blog, Ann’s running commentary make you exactly the kind of person thriv was designed for. thriv is made from eco-friendly bamboo and cotton, so it’s far more natural and lightweight than synthetic polyesters. This unique fabric blend wicks sweat better than Under Armour, and it also has a higher SPF. It doesn’t hold in odors, and it’s extraordinarily soft.

We’re excited about thriv because it is the first brand that doesn’t make us choose between performance or comfort. I’ve included a link to the website below. Check it out. If you’re interested, let me know and I can send you a men’s or women’s thriv workout shirt.

please contact me back at jonathan@trumpetgroup.com

    Thanks for your time!
    Jonathan

I am the guy you chatted with at the starting line (not the 16 year old and far from it.) I just wanted to say congratulations on your finish. We were actually close in time. I finished in 4:14:59 and since this was my 3rd marathon in 4 weeks, I was fine with a finish at all.

I checked out your blogs and writings briefly and although I haven’t read all of them, I found the ones I did read to be quite insightful and well-written. I will explore more as the days go by. As I mentioned, my running site is http://www.runnersthoughts.com but I keep my blog more current than the site itself. The blog can be reached from my homepage or at http://runnersthoughts.blogspot.com/

My writings over the years have generally started with the lyrics of songs which I then add my own meanings to.
It might be a phrase or chorus that touches me in some way that I subsequently write about. I have also written some inspirational messages where God or Jesus played a role – lyrics from a christian song or a verse from the bible. It might be a rock or country song or a quote from another person as well. Recently, I have tried to write a few more funny things like the recent Asses and Elbows or Observations from the Trail. I felt like I was
writing a bit too seriously and wanted to write something more fun. I also need to write about the last few months as I have been delinquent since August. However I did just write about the runner who died yesterday in Baltimore.

In any event, it was nice meeting you in Baltimore. I hope that you had a great experience and a nice run. Maybe we will see each other at another marathon. I have my schedule on the blog as well.

    Have a Nice day!

I am happy to let you know that your site has been included in this list.
Either way, thanks for your time!
    Cheers,
    Maureen Denard
