Ironman 2012 – The Report
If you like Ann’s Running Commentary – check out my cool new YouTube Channel. Do people still say that? Cool?
Ann Brennan is first and foremost a mom of three beautiful children. She is the managing editor of Beyond Limits Magazine and the creator of Ann’s Running Commentary. In 2012, Ann took Ann’s Running Commentary to new levels – first with a segment on the RunRunLive Podcast, chronicling her journey to her first Ironman and second, with a new channel on YouTube. Currently Ann is working on a non-fiction book series and working hard every day to remind people to get up, get active and get out there.
Question – do you prefer comments here or on the YouTube channel? (i.e. which benefits you more?) I did both today
Anyway, my story is that I am typing from a hotel room in Kentucky, working on a project here at a plant for my company (company is Corning, Kentucky is where the Gorilla Glass Apple uses comes from among other things). I live in western NY, and really don’t like travel for business – well, a few days here or there is OK, but so far I have been here 17 or the last 21 days, and will be here ~75% of the time until May. Your advice was my wife’s advice – we deal with it one day at a time, FaceTime calls in morning and evening, tick off one more day, one more week. I hate missing stuff, but then she reminds me of the concerts and doctor appointments SHE has had to miss when my projects had me local. It is a great strategy that helps keep me from freaking out.
Thank you so much for leaving a comment anywhere at all. Comments are my favorite form of loving. It is amazing though how taking things one step at a time can make all the difference. It really is a mindset. When my son was trying to apply for the service academies (USNA, USAFA and the best on USMA) he was overwhelmed in the beginning. I remember saying to him, just do the first step, open the website and we will go from there. Doing it that way makes all the difference.
