It’s too cold/hot/wet out there.
My shoes are still soaked from puddle jumping.
My stomach doesn’t feel right.
I am tired.
I just don’t want to run.
But the other morning I woke up with an excuse that I am almost ashamed to share with you.
I am too fat to run.
Honest to God. That is what I said. I am too fat to run.
And then my jaw dropped and I stood there in shock.
Too fat to run?
Yes, I have gained weight. Yes, a lot of weight. But too fat to run? Really? I don’t think so.
First, because that is not even a real excuse. Second, because if I am really overweight and I cannot deny that I am, then getting moving is exactly what I need to do.
I don’t have a lesson here. All I have is the story. A moment in my life that left me speechless. And a question – what is the worse excuse you have ever used for not running?
