Today, December 14th, I drew the winner for this giveaway. The lucky winner was Jessica Rice. Don’t forget to check back in and enter to win our next giveaway, the much coveted Knuckle lights.
I love running and racing, but I have to admit I am so jealous of the runners I see who can actually fit into their race shirts. Of the hundreds of races I have completed over the past twenty years, I have received exactly four shirts that I can actually wear for anything more than a sleep shirt. And although I love a nice sleep shirt as much as the next guy, I would love to have some race shirts that I could wear outside of the house.
This year I have been lucky enough to find two companies that cater to endurance athletes in general and triathletes in particular, creating shirts that not only fit my petite frame but also proudly announce that I am an athlete and that I have dedicated a big portion of my life to fitness.
Earlier this year I introduced you to Bonk Triathlon. But only weeks later, at the Beach to Battleship Triathlon I came across the second company – {re}vici.
Let me go back first though. To be fair to the race directors at the races I have run, I do believe, at least in some cases, that they made an effort to give a shirt that I would wear. In most cases the shirts are nicely designed but simply don’t fit this shorty’s body type. But in other cases, it is simply that I am picky. I am not a fashionista. I don’t know how to match my purse to my shoes to my belt (are you supposed to do that?) When I shop I have to ask the salesperson for absolute and total guidance because I am all about comfort. Unfortunately, what looks good is generally not what is comfortable. And even in sports clothes or t-shirts I find it hard to wear something that is not completely and totally comfortable.
So, in October when I first came across {re}vici gear at the Beach to Battleship Ironman, I was intrigued. The shirts they had on display were so soft I wanted one of each. This does not happen in the picky world of Ann Brennan.
But even better was the motto on the front of many of their shirts – Finisher But Never Finished. Isn’t that how most of us live? I belong to a club called the Idiot’s Running Club and this motto fits right in for us. We finish one race, even the biggest event of our life, and we know that we may have finished that one, but we are not finished. We are not the one and done type.
So of course, I walked away from the {re}vici booth at Beach to Battleship with a bag full of shirts. I have ordered the shirts for just about everybody on my shopping list and if I were Oprah this shirt would be on my Favorite Things List and my readers would each receive one. But alas, I am not Oprah.
What I can do, however, is offer you the chance to win a {re}vici t-shirt. All you have to do is leave a message below telling me which of the short sleeve shirts on their website you would like to receive. Earn extra chances by tweeting or sharing it on another social media outlet and coming back to let me know you have done that.
In the meantime, if you want to order one for Christmas, click the link on the right and use the coupon code to receive a discount.
And the next time you see me, don’t be surprised if I we are wearing the same shirt. I seem to be rotating my shirts, same slogan, different color and am seldom seen without them.

I am with you Ann when it comes to comfort. I need to feel every piece of clothing I purchase cause it needs to feel good as well as look good. I like the long sleeve finisher but not finished. I was really impressed with the we page for the company. They get that this isn’t just something we do but it is who we are all of the time.
Hi Ann,
I love the finisher T-shirt in purple! It makes me think of the fact that after 19 years of running 5ks and 11 years of doing sprint tris off and on, I moved out of my comfort zone and did the Cherry Pit 10 miler this year. It was less than 3 weeks after my mom died and I only gotten up to 7 miles in my training at that point so it was very tempting to be a no show. But several wonderful people in my running community reached out and encouraged me just to show up and I did. I ended up last after the 6th mile. There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to finish, it was just a matter of when I was going to finish and if the clock would still be up! Not only am I going to do the Cherry Pit again next year, I look forward to doing my first Olympic distance Tri in 2013. I am always a finisher (often bringing up the rear or close to it), but I am definitely not finished!
The short sleeve Finisher in Tri-Orchid. Perfect!

I love the “Tres Flores” T-shirt in Tri-Lime.
Seems that this was the year of purple, three of my race shirts are purple and it also happens to be my favorite color. My husband didn’t think that receiving another purple shirt was worth the amount I paid in race entry fees tho! That is why I would love to add the finisher T in purple to my 2012 shirt collection – so I can show him one that did not cost $80!
Anne, I’m just so excited to see that you’re promoting your site and “you”! I think of you all the time when I’m running. Me, 5 foot tall. Could I be an Iroman someday? Could it happen? Then I think of you… anyways, love your blogs and I”ll keep reading! Maybe someday I’ll write one too
Keep the videos coming!

Thanks Norene. I really appreciate that. When I am in the midst of a bad day and receive a message like this it really does make the day better.
I love the purple or grey “finisher but not finished yet” shirts! It’s such a true statement. I thought I would be “finished” when I accomplished my 5k goal….NOT! I was sucked in from the start and have so far to go. I am blessed by your knowledge and look forward to growing as your blog/vlog grows!! Keep sharing the knowledge, Ann. You truly are making a difference in the running/triathalon community.

My husband would love for me to be “finished,” but after taking way too long off while trying to build our new home and survive apartment life with 3 kids, I’m far from being finished and can’t wait to be another Finisher in 2013!
Your husband would hate for you to be finished. He thinks he would like it but I we are far nicer after training.
